So I was looking through all my folders today, since my dear sister asked me to back-up all the files (especially pictures and music) in the computer. There's only about 10+gb in both hard drives added together. I think it's the music. And so, I was looking through and organising all my pictures and photos, and I came across the photos (the few that I have) of the past youth camps. It's quite scary, not in a bad way, but all those memories rushing back, all the games, all the running, all the shouting (and cheers especially) and all the group members. I've been so far to four youth camps (not including this year's). I think the only one of which I don't have any pics of is Enlisted. Maybe I do, but I think I shan't dig them out.
Wait. I DO have pics taken during Enlisted! Gasps! (pause, while I go up to find some dusty albums)
GASPS! I found so many old old photos. Okay, not that old. About 5 years ago. We'll start from the most recent.
2005 - Saturate (Katong Hostel)

Remember the tune of the chicken dance? Replace all the words with Saturate. We came up with it somewhere in Sentosa, at TAN LAY KWAN's station, where we were supposed to dance and sing. HAH! Okay, from then on, our group (FLOOD) had to do many many many MANY more dances. Some for entertainment's sake. I guess you can call it a cheer.
So Zach was my asst leader. A great one he was too. He's more like co-leader lah, not asst, since I wasn't around on the first day, was in Israel. Oh look! That was our group banner! gasps! I entirely forgot about it. Saturate's fresh in every one's minds, so we shan't go into too much detail.

2004 - Operation 24/7 (Geylang Methodist Sec)
O2! Oxygen rather. You know, no one every asked why we were named O2, so I'll be 2 years late and tell you why. As the theme of the camp goes, 24/7, God everyday. (As most will remember the other group named Everyday, led by Joy Tan if I'm not wrong.) So the presence of God must be like the air we breathe, oxygen, without it, we can't survive. Simple. We took very VERY long thinking of a name. Kian Hao was the asst leader. :) I think I fell sick that year. So he had to take over me for about half a day. This was taken at Pasir Ris park, I vividly remembered the running.
How very much running we had to do. And the mentos game, the game at the maze where someone's shirt had to be painted some bright colour, our faces were painted with black paint, gotta climb that big spider web thing etc. And there was the very fun night detective-like game. Where some one was murdered. And Daniel Loke's theory. GMSS is quite eerie at night. Oh and Tong Neng was camp commandant.
2003 - Press On! (St Margaret's Primary)
We didn't have a group pic as far as I can remember. This is the closest, a tribe pic. Levi! With someone else whom we clearly don't want to particularly remember. Was assisting Jodin. The only year where we had to perform in our zones, not groups. I remembered the winning zone, the Song of Songs one with Lavonne running in a punjabi (purple, Wenli's I think), to put it a bit crudely. The things I remember. And Andrew's zone with something about bodyparts trying to play the drums, and there was the famous nosepicking.
And remember that we all got woken up in the middle of the night at about 3plus, got scolded by Delia, the camp commandant then, for being so lethargic and all, etc. I even remembered it was Elizabeth (koh) who came to wake my room up. She was so gentle lah, like, "Can you all please wake up, hurry." We were all wondering why we were awoken in such a gentle manner in the middle of the night. Turned out it was a scolding.
And there was this game where there was a big ground sheet where they poured soapy water on and we had to chase some marbles around or something. That was quite fun. Hah. Oh, my group was Huios. Forgot what it means. There was a cheer we had which was the predecessor of the Everyday cheer the following year. Cha siew bao ah cha siew bao, chicken rice ah chicken rice, very nice ah very nice, Huios Huios very nice, go Huios. See the resemblance? No? Nvm.
2002 - Enlisted (Scripture Union Campsite Sentosa)
Check out the date on the picture. 22 12 02. This is Edz Ra Thi (ERT) and Dunamis. Leader, Kelly, asst Yujun. This was the camp where Daphne's cheers came from. It went "Daphne: ERT sud bu sud? All scream: SUD! Daphne: ERT xing bu xing? All: XING! Daphne: ERT sud xing bu sud xing? All: SUD XING!" Okay, honestly, I didn't know that could be counted as a cheer, but we just cheered anyway, cos we had no one else who could think of cheers, of course, this was the work of arrowing. ahem.
Laksa and mee soto at harbourfront before taking a boat across. Guess which hand's mine. :)
The games were to be remembered forevermore. Remember the eno salt? Andrew's station. One spoonFUL of eno, run to the end, pour water from a bottle, DON'T SWALLOW, foaming, FOAMING, skip 10 times, run towards the empty bottle, pui. After all members have done that, drink the disastrous mixture in the second bottle for extra points. Thankfully for my group, the guys shared. :P Hmmm, other than that, I can't really seem to remember the rest. There was this get-as-much-foam-with-your-hair game. Okay, maybe I'll take back my first line. It was just the terrible eno game. Some drank blood. And there was this dressing-up-a-person-in-your-group-like-a-soldier game, where junxian was arrowed (again) by kelly and yujun, to be dressed. He was VERY unwilling. We had our share of laughs. And then after the game, we all had our surprise water bomb sabotage on the camp comm. Oh and Liu Yan was camp commandant.
Oh, our group banner was this umbrella. Hah. Was it ever stollen? hmmm. And our group identity was this handphone dangly thing made at a pasar malam, personalised with our names. Guys blue, girls pink. I still have mine, but it's old and it has a part missing.
Okay, upcoming are other pics.

Room mates. :)
What a long post. I took like 2 hours plus to do this, scanning, uploading, etc. Hope I brightened someone's day. :) Hah. Apologies for the scatteredandmessy-ness.
